Considered by many to be the greatest jazz saxophonist of all time, there is no doubt that Charlie Parker permanently altered the course that jazz took. Jackie McLean reflects in his liner notes on Parker's influence on jazz, on other musicians, and on Parker's own glorious career. He observes that "you can't really compare levels of genius, but Charlie Parker was the greatest musician of his time... Parker brought so much to so many lives."
