Inventor Harold Rhodes pays tribute in the notes to Bill Evans's mastery of Rhodes's electric piano. And Evans skilfully shifts from playing electric to acoustic and back again - sometimes within one track. But it's The Dolphin, presented both before and after the flutes, strings, and percussion have been innovatively overlayed, that epitomizes this singular entry in Evans's celebrated discography.
